Our Salmon Products are Certified to the Seafood Trust Label
Our products now carry the certification mark SEAFOOD TRUST attesting that our salmon meets Certified Quality Salmon Standards (CQS). These high standards have been developed by expert panels and include all parts of the supply chain and attest to the quality of our product.
What is a Certified Quality Salmon?
A Certified Quality Salmon from Cooke Aquaculture is a product which is traceable to a stringent product quality specification with regards to freshness, visual appearance, taste and texture and which has been produced and processed by a certified company that operates to best industry practice with regards to food safety, fish welfare and superior quality.
To maintain this certification we are engaged in two essential processes.
1) Audits by a third party certifier governed by the highest standards in the world. All Cooke Aquaculture operations from the hatcheries to processing and shipping are now subject to frequent, detailed and thorough audits by the world’s foremost independent, and international certification body called Global TRUST Certification Ltd. Global TRUST Certification Ltd. is accredited by ISO 65 / EN45011. This ISO 65/EN45011 standard deals with product and systems certification. This accreditation is now recognized as an international benchmark for seafood product certification and is also recognized in over forty countries.

2) Continuous improvement. The quality process we are engaging in is incremental in nature meaning that Cooke Aquaculture is now committed to continuous improvement of quality and environmental performance. We do not shirk our environmental responsibilities. Our pristine fresh water and marine environment is our most valuable asset and we continuously strive to protect this resource and deliver superior quality in an environmentally responsible manner. We set environmental and conservation targets and our commitment to meeting these targets is now measured rigorously through third party certification.
