Every Canadian farm is subject to a comprehensive environmental assessment under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and every Maine farm is subject to initial evaluation and continuing monitoring by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection as provided for under the Code of Maine Regulations and Federal Water Pollution Control Act.
